Barcelona is a great city to visit, known for its amazing buildings, nearby mountains, and beaches. It’s the home of Antoni Gaudí, whose famous works are protected by UNESCO.

There are many things to see, like Gaudí’s masterpieces to visiting world-class museums like the Picasso Museum and the National Art Museum of Catalonia. The Mediterranean coast is also just about an hour away, perfect for a relaxing beach trip.

Food lovers will enjoy Barcelona’s vibrant culinary scene, with top-tier restaurants offering both traditional Spanish dishes and creative fusion cuisine.

Most of the main attractions are located in the Eixample neighborhood, making it easy to explore the city in about three days. If you have more time, consider taking day trips to nearby gems like Montserrat, Tarragona, or Girona for a richer experience.

Girona and Costa Brava

Girona became popular with Game of Thrones fans thanks to the famous “Walk of Shame” scene, filmed on the steps of its stunning cathedral. The city has a relaxed vibe, with locals enjoying life on sunny terraces and charming streets.

Just 45 minutes away, you can visit the town of Figueres, the birthplace of Salvador Dalí. There, you’ll find the Dalí Theatre-Museum, known for its creative and quirky design, showcasing the artist’s unique and imaginative works.

Girona is also close to the Costa Brava, a coastline famous for its beautiful beaches, hidden coves, and amazing sea views. Perfect for a day of swimming, relaxing, and soaking up the summer sun.

Tarragona

Tarragona is a city full of history, once a Roman city, where you can still see ancient ruins like the Roman amphitheatre, circus, and the Les Ferreres aqueduct. It also has beautiful medieval spots like the cathedral and the old Jewish quarter with its charming arches.

In spring, the city hosts the Tarraco Viva festival, where people reenact Roman history through shows and fun activities. In summer, you can also see one of Catalonia’s most famous traditions the “Castells”, or human towers that is performed during local festivals.

Tarragona has 15 kilometers of coastline with soft sandy beaches, ideal for swimming from June to September. It’s also a great place to enjoy seafood, with many restaurants serving fresh local fish and shellfish.
